William Carson banned for six months

William Carson was banned after testing positive.
But, his suspension had been backdated to start – eight days following the sample taken Lingfield from him was discovered to contain the banned material benzoylecgonine.
His ban runs through to October 4 – and as long that he also receives clearance from the health care staff of the British Horseracing Authority and as his riding licence has not expired, he can resume his career.
The 29-year-old grandson of both five-time winner and several Classic winner Willie Carson, carson, obtained confirmation of his punishment in a BHA panel hearing on Thursday.
Without a winner Carson has not ridden since April 1. His main career success so far came in the 2008 Ayr Gold Cup aboard Regal Parade.
